First things first, let’s clarify some important updates regarding the course names:
The Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM) course has been officially renamed to Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism [BA (MCJ)] from the academic year 2020-2021, following revised UGC autonomous college guidelines 2018. So, if you see any mention of BMM, remember it’s the same as BA (MCJ).
Similarly, the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) course has been renamed to Bachelor of Commerce in Management Studies [BCom in Management Studies] from the academic year 2024-2025. Keep this in mind when referring to the course.
Therefore, this guide will primarily use the new nomenclatures: BA (MCJ) and BCom in Management Studies.
The Xavier’s Entrance Test 2025 (XET 2025):
Admission to both the BA (MCJ) and BCom in Management Studies programmes for the academic year 2025-2026 will be based on the Xavier’s Entrance Test 2025 (XET 2025) followed by a merit list.
Application Details:
The online application portal will be open from 6 p.m. (IST) on 3rd April 2025 to 6 pm (IST) on 5th May 2025.
The application fee for XET 2025 for both BA (MCJ) and BCom in Management Studies is Rs. 3000/-.
Payment must be made online through the provided portal. All payments are non-refundable.

For the centre in Mumbai (St. Xavier’s College only), the test will be held between Saturday 10th May and Sunday 11th May 2025 and between Friday 16th May and Saturday 17th May 2025. The exams on 16th and 17th May will be exclusively in Mumbai.
The schedule will remain unaltered even if the dates are declared public holidays.
The test duration is 2 hours.
The exact address for the venue will be given in your Admit Card, which will be released online two days prior to your exam.
The test will be held across 9 cities: Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Cochin, Kolkata, Goa, and Guwahati. You will have the option to select one centre in the application form.
Basis of Admission:
XET 2025 will be of 100 marks.

For BCom in Management Studies, along with general awareness covering commerce, business, economics, etc., mathematics and data interpretation up to Std. X are crucial. Logical and visual reasoning, critical analysis, and English language are also important components.
